With over 35 years of experience in heritage preservation, tourism, and cultural education, Samar Karam is a trusted authority in Arab cultural fluency and sustainable travel. Born into a multicultural world and shaped by global experiences, she brings a rare combination of academic structure, emotional intelligence, and field-based insight to everything she does.
Samar holds two master’s degrees in Archaeology, a Bachelor’s in Tourism & Hospitality, and a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Cultural Travel Management & Communication from Switzerland. She is certified in leading intercultural communication frameworks, including the Lewis Model and Louise Evans’ 5 Chairs. A Senior NLP Practitioner, Timeline Therapy® Trainer, and TCK trainer & coach. She is also a certified trainer of the Barton System for dyslexic children (approved in 2017 under the Norton-Gillingham method and certified by the Boards of Education in California, Colorado, and Arkansas).
Her studies in Shariah & Fiqh (Islamic Law &Jurisprudence) give her a grounded understanding of how Islamic religious values and practices are branding the world of business in the Gulf region.
As the founder of CCC Cross-Culture, Samar designs and delivers over 30 high-impact signature training programs and workshops, executive coaching, and immersive cultural awareness experiences. Her approach goes far beyond the textbook, introducing expats to Arab culture through practical, nuanced, and engaging methods that resonate in today’s fast-paced world.
Fluent in three languages and 3 Arabic dialects, Samar specializes in the Arab World’s high-context communication etiquette and social cultural adaptation for expats and international teams. An Egyptologist by training, Samar has collaborated with renowned scholars such as Professor Kent Weeks, Graham Hancock, John Anthony West, and Robert Bauval, and lectured regularly on the Arab heritage.
As co-founder, Director of Communication and Guest Experience at GWE Travel, she led the development of educational, responsible travel programs along the Nile, connecting travellers with the region’s cultural and historical richness.
Beyond the titles, Samar’s work is rooted in advocacy and female dignity. In the 90s, she was actively involved in anti-FGM campaigns across Egypt, Nubia, and Sudan, an experience that continues to fuel her lifelong commitment to gender equity and social inclusion.
